The Greenhorn Valley is granite country, and granite means uranium traces, which means radon. Homes around Lake Beckwith and up the hill toward Rye and San Isabel sit on exactly the kind of fractured rocky ground that feeds soil gas into a foundation year-round. Housing in the valley splits two ways, and so does our work. The ranch homes and newer builds along the Highway 165 corridor are standard sub-slab installs, half a day and done. The mountain properties toward Rye and Beulah are where it gets interesting: crawl spaces, walkouts cut into slopes, additions on piers, wood stoves that change the house's pressure behavior all winter. Those get a walkthrough first, because the right system design out here depends on how the house actually breathes.
